With 4 year schools, you spend the 2 years in your major and 2 years in areas outside your major. So one is more concentrated training and the other is more broad.
Now as far as which classes or major you should do, a lot has to do with the individual community college. Majoring in English won't include classes in film directing or the movie business. Yet that doesn't mean you can't take additional classes on top of your english.
My suggestion would be to lean towards something like broadcast media, multimedia, journalism, and perhaps theater. These would be more closely-related to the movie business.
For example, I've seen the multimedia students working on their own videos and short films for class. They learn how to create, direct, and edit. Theater students will learn how to act and how things like staging works. This can translate to film in the sense that you'll be experienced with acting and staging.
I would suggest you contact the heads of these departments at a local community college you think you might want to attend and sound them out. They'll be more than happy to assist you. And I suggest checking into multimedia, mass media, and broadcast media before the rest. These are the ones that are most related and would be your best bets!
