    The Series:

Rangers lead 9-7-6 in this series; 8-5-4 in league play.

    The Referee:

Phil Joslin has the assignment. This is his third time out with QPR this season. He was the referee in our Carling Cup win at Sheffield United and our LDV Vans Trophy win over Brighton & Hove Albion, so both Kevin (the former) and I (the latter) have seen him in action this year.

  • The Peterborough match can be heard on BBC London at www.bbc.co.uk/london/ ...or so they say.

  • Williams came into the match in the 25th minute.

And, crap, in the 45th, Rangers go BEHIND at home.

    QPR 0-1 Peterborough

  • Obviously not the result we were hoping for at HQ last night. And Kev's goal at the death saved a point from a depressing evening. We're still in the mix at the top though and its really going to come down to some critical away matches if we're going straight up.

The real key to last night was the injury situation. Before looking at the match itself, you have to consider 4 players that missed out... 1. Martin Rowlands - best player in the division and key to our ability to play proper attacking football. 2. Marcus Bean - just so much better than Palmer and Bircham (although Birch is improving of late). 3. Danny Shittu - Although we have Carlisle and Gnohere we still miss Big Dan's pace, range and strength. 4. Chris Day - He sealed matches with key saves in the autumn and last spring - Culkin is not a poor replacement, but not in Day's league.

Now look at last night. We were very poor in midfield and could not get any consistent passing football going. Rose was badly out of position on the right wing, and Cureton wasn't much better (and who knows if he's in match shape). Palmer was invisible, as was his replacement Johnson. Olly got it wrong from the start and admitted it by making the triple substitution in the 2nd half. Of course, sods law kicked in and Carlisle went down injured just after we had used all our subs. He played bravely up front for the rest of the match, and almost had a goal, but if we had a sub left he certainly would have been taken off.

The mood has taken a decided turn for the worse and its not entirely unfounded. The consensus last night was that Olly got the lineup wrong, and for the first time he's probably got more disagreeing with him. The team are tending to coast at times, although I would not say that they are disinterested or lazy. We have to get healthy, thats the first key. I just hope it happens in the next couple weeks. We need Bean back, Rowlands healthy and we'll see how bad Carlisle's leg is. If we have Rowlands, Bean and McLeod all fit in MF, I don't see us playing as poorly as we did last night.

  • Day and Rowlands fail fitness tests.

Poor Tommy Williams. He leaves us because we can't guarantee him a regular starting role and he's coming off the bench today for relegation zone Posh. Is he injured or something?

    Our XI:
Culkin; Padula, Carlile, Gnohere, Forbes; McLeod, Palmer, Bircham, Rose; Gallen, Furlong.

    Bench:
    Thorpe, Cureton, Marney, Sabin, Johnson.

  • Is this on the net anywhere? Well anywhere free on the net, possibly BBC London???

  • Wow. Talk about leaving it late. Gallen scores in extra time and Rangers get a point.

    1-1. Full Time.

We only got 2 points off Peterborough this season. That could come back to bite us.
