  • For the last 6 nights I have been forced awake by fear because rat's keep falling on my head and screeching. I wake up and scream and run from my bed. My hubby is getting sick of this.

  • you have been watching I'm a Celebrity Get Me Outa here! Or you have seen the trailers and its playing on your mind whilst sleeping.

  • Wow, those are even more intense than I thought. I still think it's about being overwhelmed by the unpredictable things that life throws at you, like your granddad's death. Try to take more control over life. But if it's a constant issue, don't be ashamed to try asking for help from a professional. Report Abuse

  • rats can symbolize worry. or fear. I would think if they are falling on your head then you are letting yourself be over come by these worries and fears.

I would think of it as you have too much on your plate...you are trying to accomplish something "fixing the crack" but everything is happening at once and it is keeping you from being focused on what you need to do.

  • I'd like to hear more about the dream, and the events and emotions feel in it, but it's clear that you find the rat attack disturbing!

To me, the fact that the rats are falling from the sky rather than coming from somewhere identifiable speaks to the unpredictable, uncontrollable nature of unfortunate events that happen to us during our lives-- raining down on us, sent by fate or God or random chance whatever you happen believe in. Be it sickness, accidents, obligation, death, loved ones who ask too much of us, or any of the infinite obstacles we're often presented with, there are an awful lot of problems that enter our lives with little or no choice on our part.

For some reason, it also strikes me that the rats aren't in control of their situation either-- they're being thrown from somewhere rather than intentionally attacking you.

This suggests a feeling of being overwhelmed by the negative things that life is throwing at you, even though you can't blame the problems, events, or people (represented by the rats) that are in your way. I would take it as a sign to find ways to take control of your life-- planning time for yourself and loved ones, getting involved in something you enjoy, and making sure to focus on the good things that come your way, not just the obstacles. You need to realize that you can make things happen, not that they only happen to you.
