Yu Gi Oh cards help, with gravity bind?

  • Does Gravity Bind target or effect tyrant dragon? And can someone please explain the difference between effect and target. thanks


  • targeting is when you choose or the opponent chooses like if you played mystical space typhoon it targets, fissure specifically designates, and gravity bind is neither, but the word effect means , well, anything that effects it like sakuretsu armor wouldn't destroy wildheart because it says he is unaffected by the effects of trap cards


  • No Gravity bind does not target.

    Cards that target are really easy to spot. When you get to pick what card you want to use its effect on that is when a card targets.

    Ex. With Karma Cut you choose which monster you want to remove from the game. Therefore it targets.

    Smashing Ground destroys the monster with the huighest defense. You do not pick the monster, the cards effect does. Even if you have to choose between the 2 monsters with the highest defense. Because you do not manually pick the card in order to activate the effect it does not target.

    Effects like that of Judgment Draogon and Gravity Bind do not target.

    Dark Armed Dragon and Gladiator beast gyzarus target.
